The Windows Task Manager is an invaluable tool, mainly because it allows you to shut down crashed applications. Unfortunately, in certain situations, even this handy utility may not be able to close stubborn tasks. Also, computers tend to work slower when large and demanding programs crash, which makes it a bit difficult to bring up the Task Manager. Task ForceQuit offers an excellent alternative for such situations. It works like the standard Task Manager, but it has a cleaner design and its functionality is more straightforward.

The application is offered free of charge, but you can make a donation if you want to. It is compatible with all modern Windows platforms and it can be installed in no time. Task ForceQuit does not require any additional tools and its impact on the computer's performance is insignificant.

Running tasks are displayed in a list, on a compact user interface, along with their running windows count and other details. To shut down a task, you only need to click a button, next to its entry. You can also click a different option, if you wish to restart a task. In addition, Task ForceQuit provides options for shutting down or restarting the computer and for restarting Windows Explorer, which can be found in the lower region of the interface.

The application displays only programs that are running in the Windows task bar, so you don't have to look for a particular task among countless processes. The user interface can be minimized to the system tray, which can make it much easier to shut down or restart a task. Right clicking Task ForceQuit's system tray icon will reveal your running tasks in a pop-up menu, along with options for closing or restarting them.

Pros

You can kill running tasks fast and easy. The application is particularly useful for crashed programs. Also, it gives you the possibility of shutting down or restarting tasks through a system tray icon.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to mention. With Task ForceQuit, programs that crash or freeze can be closed instantly, with only a single click.
